Pickathon Benefest @ The Woods, February 12, 2011
Tonight the people behind Pickathon bring us Benefest, a music festival to support arts education at Buckman Elementary and the Portland Schools Foundation. We get to listen to talented voices of Eric D. Johnson (of Fruit Bats), Andy Cabic (of Vetiver) and Richard Swift and support an incredibly important cause.
Tonight get ready to jump up and down, side to side and do some slow-mo and fast-mo head banging to Magic Johnson, Psychic Feline, The Boo Jays and Karen. Crunchy, glamy, rocky, trippy, punky, gritty, GO! And it’s the release party for Magic Johnson’s 7″, “Perro Suelto” so the vibe is !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
People keep saying that “the dream of the 90s” is alive in Portland, but they’re off by about 30 years. For example: Did you know that you can keep three chickens in your backyard, legally? You can also walk around naked, as long as you aren’t “trying” to turn anybody on (it’s cool if you just can’t help it).
