I met Kelly Blair Bauman in graduate school while duking it out in a philosophy of education class; impressed by his intellect and curls, it was only later that I made the connection that I’m also impressed by his songs. Check him out tonight at Bunk Bar’s weekly free show with Old Light. You may remember the WW describing their sound in the Best New Bands 2011 article, as “one that kicks back to chilled-out melodies laced with intense Beach Boys harmonies; one that gets Crazy Horse as fuck on swamp-rock anthems and throws down on quick improvised interludes.” Damn.
