MS.MS. Style Portrait: Robin Hilleary
MS.MS. Style Portrait: Robin Hilleary, October 25, 2011, by s.baker
I was taken with both Robin Hilleary‘s beauty and style from the moment I met her. I was in my neighborhood dive and Robin breezed in on the arm of our mutual friend Jen. She wore a wide brimmed felt hat, slouchy blouse and long skirt with a splash of her killer jewelry. So elegant… I was smitten. I was not in the least surprised to find out that Robin is also a stylist, especially after visiting her amazing apartment and nosing around her color coded closet. I hope you enjoy a snapshot of this woman who is so strikingly beautiful, both inside and out.
Sarah Baker: What is your signature silhouette?
Robin Hilleary: Large thing on top with black legging’d sticks poking out or Marilyn, depending on the time of day.
SB: What’s your power color?
RH: Red.
SB: Who is your style icon?
RH: Iris Apfel.
SB: What’s your fashion alter ego?
RH: Lucille Ball?
SB: What should you probably throw out, but can’t?
RH: My dear friend Ruby’s father’s sweater that was lent to me in a time of cashmere need- it’s been eaten to pieces by her dog, shrunk in the wash, and worn thin with love and tumble.
SB: What can you not live without?
RH: Plenty of fluids, my Casio data bank, heels, a great scent, my books.
SB: What is your fashion weakness?
RH: Constant consumption of fine imagery & fragile, ridiculous dresses.
